A few months ago I told you guys how I was shedding like no bodies business, well I’m happy to report that I am still shedding like a mutha. I really haven’t worried about it too much, I’ve pretty much been amazed at how much hair I can lose and still have hair on my head. Truthfully me edges have suffered the most, notice the slight thinning:
So while that is happening in the front, I have another problem happening in the back. My problem has a name, he is 14 pounds and has  a death grip all wrapped up in a small two inch fist. I never ever have my hair out when I am around Jonross because he has a fascination with yanking and pulling on my hair, and when my hair is out it seems like he gets so excited and cant decide what part to pull out of my head. So I have always put my hair in a super high bun keeping it out of his reach and out of my way! Now my loving son reaches around and grabs my nape area, even though there is no loose hair, he finds a way to grab an entire section and pulls until there is hair in his palm. Lord have mercy!
Needless to say I haven’t figured out what to do about him other than catching him before he can pull, because I can never catch him before he actually places his hand back there.
OH – funny story
He was having a particularly bad night so his dad and I decided to take him out of his crib and have him sleep between us, which ordinarily never ends well for me. The kicking on my boobs is relentless, why he drifts to my side is beyond me when his boobless dad is right there too! So anyway we slept and I didn’t wear a bonnet that night but I had my hair braided in a couple of braids, two in the front as usual. Jonross apparently woke up first and decided it was either time for me to wake up or that he had free access to this amazing string like jungle gym that was in front of him and he was not going to lose this opportunity. So naturally he wiggled his way to one of my braids, and gave it the yank of his life. I woke up immediately to a laughing baby! REALLY!  – I had to smile, I’m not gonna lie his laugh melts my heart, but my hair I thought I lost one that time.
Small Regimen Changes
I assume my shedding wont end until around the end of the year, so I have updated my regimen to incorporate less manipulation. For me this means, washing once a week, co wash weekly and shampoo/deep condition/prepoo every two weeks. I definitely have been using alot of castor oil, oil rinsing weekly and bi-weekly and using it for my edges and sealing too!
Another thing I’ve been doing is not detangling and setting my hair nightly, that sounds really bad, but for one, sometimes I don’t have the time and my hair stays in a bun because of baby brat. If I do wear my hair out, I just kind of fluff and separate and go, it looks kind of organic, no set, like a twist and curl using rollers and other gadgets. I do braid my hair whenever I wash so that it can dry in an organized fashion, but that’s about it, whatever I get after that is what I get! – This might change when I have more time, but for now keeping it moisturized has helped me to be able to wear it without setting it.
