The other day I had a prayer to the social media gods, please don’t create another App, device, platform, website where individuals have to follow and connect with each other.. I begged ….I really did…… but then in March Keek got launched and every other second a person will post!
“hey ya’ll follow me on Keek!!!!!!!!!”Â
Really dude? I follow you on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, your blog that you never write on, YouTube, Tumblr & Twitter (eww – side bar – I hate twitter, I cant figure that ish out to save my life, I can talk to someone one on one but if someone else enters the conversation, I can never follow all of what they are saying.. and I’m just left wondering are they talking about my ass, because I sure cant tell!)
Back to Keek, so I’m following you on at least 7 platforms and now you have the nerve to ask me to follow you on something else, hell to the no! your not gonna have me looking like no stalker, telling your friends ‘oh be careful of that Emily bitch she all over my ish, I think she stalking me’
nosireebob!.. not me!
I wonder, do we even talk on the phone anymore? do we have any real friends? are all our friends all social strangers with names like bigboobs007? Don’t get me wrong, I am totally grateful for all five of the people that read my blog and I value all of my interactions and I agree it is fun. But at some point we must draw the line, – No I do not want to see a 3 minute snippet of you walking in the grass pretending to appreciate the wonders of nature trying to convince me that you are one with the universe.
Here is why social media is so attractive, people have at least 25million opportunities to show what they think is their best self all day long. Have you ever seen a Facebook post from someone saying ‘my husband thinks I’m annoying because I nag him day in and day out’ ? – nope –
But you will see a picture of the one time that same husband bought her flowers, with the caption “from my boo’  having us believe everything is glitter and rainbows in  their relationship all year round. Its only natural that we want to portray what is good about ourselves and our lives.
Not to mention the value of social media if you own a business and need easy free ways to promote your product and brand. The hubs and I know this first hand, its no wonder some business have entire departments dedicated to this stuff.
So Yea …I get it but still…
I draw the line – Frankly all this following is a little narcissistic – just a little bit
