Its been awhile I know!.. life 🙂 but I did want to check in an give an update on my hair! she hasn’t been doing well these last couple of months.. and by not well I don’t mean anything disastrous but just looking super dull even after a co wash. I have been sporting a co-wash and braid – bun thing for a minute, almost 2 months!
Regimen quick recap-
I would co-wash my hair with Tresseme moisturizing conditioner, and braid my hair in about 6-8 braids in the shower. I apply my leave in (cantu shea butter or Kimmaytube leave in) to each braid. -Release the braids once dry and then bun my hair until a few days and repeat the process(every two days). I have been using the mudwash to shampoo weekly or bi-weekly.
So whats the problem you ask?
my hair was so dull, I mean lifeless… no shine, nothing, just existing. Last night I looked in the mirror and was like.. ‘what in the world is your problem?’, I just couldn’t figure it out but then I glimpsed my sulfate laden shampoo in the back of my product closet.
I took that bad boy out and decided I am going to strip this hair of ever single thing it has in it! I separated it into four got a real good lather after the second wash and shampooed the ish out of my hair.
The result :- Just call me Dr Fluffy – My hair springed back to life, its fluffy, shiny back to its normal happy go lucky self.
After the shampoo my process was the same, applied conditioner and braided (allowed it to dry overnight) I used my yellow bird blow dryer to finish the job in the morning and just added some argon oil!
Moral of the story –
Even if you are doing the curly girl method, kinky girl method (side eye), kinky curly method, whatever it is you are doing don’t forget the value of a good old fashion shampoo sulfate and all.
Hair today- *Great* even wore it out!
