Last night I said I would use the Lavish Curls refresher on my hair in the morning for second day hair after my wash and go. *sigh* let me say it like this.. if my hair aint saying.. ‘hello world, step aside…… step aside …Caz I …..AM…. FEELING….. MYSELF’ then its just not going to work.Â
My cousin likes the curls line for her not so TWA and last night she told me the Lavish curls isn’t too great.. I should have called her first.Â
Ingredients: Water glycerin, polysorbate 80, methylheptyl isostearate, silk amino acids, certified organic anthemis nobilis flower extract, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, certified organic camelllia sinensis leaf extract, citric acid, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, disodium EDTA, potassium sorbate, phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol, fragrance. Â
-OK ingredients but I dunno my hair didn’t like it.. she just laid there like..’ ummm, chick … what is this?… a sedative!? *rolling eyes*’…..my hands were nice and sticky though! gotta love that!
…. on a side note, is it just me or wouldn’t it be cool if they made the spray nozzle with different settings so that when you spray it .. it came out like the full coverage setting on a bottle of Windex Glass Cleaner?!
I gave the jar away to my step son, he doesn’t care what he puts in his hair anyway so I figured he would like it for moisturizing his locs. Dr. Miracles has been around for a long time mostly for permies. This new curls line is different for them and maybe I am too harsh but I hate when established companies who never gave a rats behind about natural hair before,( even though there have been tons of women who have never used perms) suddenly decide to ride ‘the new wave’ and make a product with all the typical curly ingredients but no real research or creativity that show they really truly want to embrace curly/kinky textures and not just make a bunch of nickles. My issue is not the fact that they came out with the line, but the quality of the product. I would prefer to support the smaller companies because they take the time to really pay attention to the ingredients of there products, they research and add ingredients that are natural and healthy and they also take the time to get to know our hair. (this coming from the girl that likes DAX grease on her ends.. oh well)
I think I will try Curl Junkie’s Rehab for my weekly DC, yup.. I’m going in for another hit.. my last high was a waste! (Naturally Divine, beauty supply store, here I come)
